A common objection
“I know someone who tried MLM and failed, so I won’t even consider your invitation to learn more”

Josh is one of the new leaders on the team. He is a highly intelligent, entrepreneurial, disciplined, ex marine who is also a family man, a JuJitsu Black Belt instructor, certified Nutrition coach, Fitness Trainer and a Freemason. He’s a very impressive man with an open mind, so he expects others to be equally intelligent and open minded.
One of the objections heard by advocates of MLM is the old refrain from above. Maybe the prospect even dipped a toe in the water, experienced some early personal rejection then curled up like an Armadillo on the side of a Texas highway and dropped out early.
Now, instead of realizing that overcoming hurdles, facing rejection, handling objections and other challenges is just part of the learning curve on the road to success, these same people, who once had the hope of participating in a vehicle to improve their lives, are vocal “MLM Haters”.
The fact is, they’re right!
This industry is clearly not for them. If you hear that objection from your prospect they’ve done you a favor by illuminating their own character, unreasonable expectations, lack of mental toughness or inability to be critical thinkers. Don’t get me wrong, there are huge flaws in the industry and it is definitely not right for most people, but it does allow you to take advantage of the concept of leverage.
Not everyone has the goal of building massive marketing organizations that do millions of dollars in monthly sales. Most people engaged in this business do so because they personally benefited from the product or service offered through some specific company and love being able to share those benefits within their social network. They also receive a financial benefit in the form of bonuses, discounts, free products and in some cases a regular monthly income.
This business is best described as a self development program couple to a compensation plan.
It’s a fact that the prevalence of the Network Marketing industry has only grown decade after decade since it was established as a viable marketing method nearly 50 years ago. There are now more than 18 million participants with over $180 Billion in annual retail sales industry wide with approximately $200 million paid out in commissions every day.
There is something to be said about a business that allows participants to create virtually any size of business they desire whether it is only hundreds of dollars in monthly personal retail sales or, up to the hundreds in millions in monthly team wide revenue.
There’s no such thing as something for nothing
The only way to build a large marketing organization that generates large monthly sales volume is the same in MLM as it is in a common, linear, brick and mortar sales channel. That is by building, coaching, mentoring and developing leaders.
The difference is who you work for. A corporation paying you a salary for what they believe the job is worth or for yourself, as an independent affiliate, earning income on the basis of how much value you are adding and how many others you are providing benefit to.
Onward!
