Thank God everybody spoke English
We were in Costa Rica for a few weeks earlier this month. I figure I’d be fine with my high school Spanish. No need to bone up or do a refresher course. Wrong.
My communication skills were a mucho bad joke. Some of my Spanish speaking buddies took some delight in ripping me about how I was massacring their beautiful, lyrical language. They even pleaded with me to stop trying.
When I asked one of my ex-pat friends in Playa Hermosa how he got so fluid with the local language he replied with one word.
Immersion

I got the concept instantly because it’s what I’ve been doing in another area of my life. I’m a believer in the ability we have to tap into the creative powers of the Universe to design our lives.
Over the nearly seven decades I’ve been around, the opportunity to employ these powerful principles has presented itself many, many times. Lately, I’ve decided to re-apply myself vigorously to the creative faculties of the mind and I’ve been doing it with complete immersion.
It’s incredible how much material exists on the topic and how similar the message is from each source. Just compare what two different authorities have to say about the same thing.
In his chapter on the subconscious mind
In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill points out that
the subconscious mind consists of a field of consciousness. He says it’s like a file folder in your hard drive that lets you take all the thought impulses that you perceive with any of your five senses, classify, store, then retrieve them at will.
You can voluntarily plant in your subconscious mind any plan, thought, or purpose that you want to translate into it’s physical or monetary equivalent. The subconscious acts first on the dominating desires that have been mixed with an emotional feeling, such as faith.
He also says that all thought impulses, intended for transmutation into their physical equivalent, and voluntarily planted in the subconscious mind, must pass through the imagination, and be mixed with faith.
Now compare that to what another author, Wallace D Wattles has to say about the creative faculties we all possess.
He says that by forming things in our thoughts, and through the use of the subconscious mind, we can impress our thoughts on formless substance (living, Universal mind) and by impressing our thoughts on formless substance, we can cause the things we think about to be created.
A key to the secret
In order to do so we must have unwavering faith that we will get what we want, closing our minds to all that may tend to shake our purpose, dim our vision or quench our faith.
There is an exact process to follow
Not only do you have to come up with a plan, see it and believe it as real, and emotionalize it with a strong, positive feeling, then you’ve got to have faith that your plans will come real. Faith is a key. Doubt is a short circuit in your desire to create the vision you hold.
This is why it’s so vital to surround yourself with reminders and support for what you want to achieve.
